This design of adapter is embedded into you rifle stock and can be fitted very flush as the photos below show, and the following photos give an idea of the type of installation that can be achived.
It's worth noting that the installation of any of the 'Gunsmith Adapter' designs would still require the retention of the existing sling swivel attachment.
This installation shows a fairly typical result undertaken by the good people of Strasser Rifles, where only the rim of the adapter is above the surface of the stock of their new Strasser RS14 Evo Tahr.
If the stock design permits, the adapter can be seated event lower in the stock so that it is almost flush, as with the carbon fibre 'Raven Arms', fitted to a Blaser R8 Pro Success.
We have also seen these 'Gunsmith Adapters' reworked during the installation process. In the example below the customer's own gunsmith had undertaken a complete re profiling of the adapter to match the stock of his Blaser R93.
We have also had a number of specific enquiries from people undertaking custom rifle builds. As a result, we have produced a 'Classic Gunsmith Adapter' machined from brass material, which gives a classic finish against a beautiful wood stock.
The 'Universal Gunsmith Adapter' is normally embedded up to the machined rim of the adapter.
It is worth reiterating that the 'Universal Gunsmith Adapter' is only required if you are intending to use the '300' bipod because of the need for the bipod to fold up and lock into the machined keyway of the adapter.
This keyway create the distinct elliptical design of the 'Universal rifle adapter.
On these photos below you can see how the Universal Rifle Adapter' is seated to the level of the rim.
For Javelin bipod users, the circular design 'Classic Gunsmith Adapter' can be a more suitable option, and is easier to embed deeper if required.
Finally, we have also had some custom stock manufactures that have built our adapters into the body of the rifle stock during the manufacturing process.
In the photo below PSE Composites have fitted two 'Universal Gunsmith Adapters' into a stock for a customer, who wanted to be able to use the tripod but leave to '300' bipod fitted.
In this case, PSE incorporated the 'Universal Gunsmith Adapter' into the body of the stock during the building process, enabling it to be embedded much deeper then is normally possible.
